It is located in what was formerly part of the garden of a quinta virreinal (country house built in the eighteenth century known as Casa de Alvarado). The overall objective of the proposal was to create spaces that were suitable for the uses required by the new institution because there was no coherent or useful design in the previous bourgeois garden to its recent refurbishment. The design was based on various existing elements so it could preserve the historic past. The intention was to create a contemporary language of landscape architecture that would come in harmony with the historic elements of the site.

Está ubicado en lo que anteriormente fue parte del jardín de una quinta virreinal edificada en el siglo XVIII conocida como Casa de Alvarado. El objetivo general de la propuesta fue generar espacios que fueran adecuados para los usos requeridos por la nueva institución debido a que realmente no existía un diseño coherente ni útil en el jardín burgués previo a su reciente remodelación. El diseño se apoyó en diversos elementos existentes en el jardín de tal manera que se pudiera preservar el pasado histórico. La intención fue crear un lenguaje contemporáneo de arquitectura de paisaje que estuviera en armonía con los elementos históricos del sitio.
